90 plymouth laser loses pedal response on cornering on a oval dirt race track what could be the cause?

sounds like the pick up tube is not in an ideal place for the direction your cornering. maybe the pick up is damaged even i wouldn't know on that car what to do for sure. if its only an issue when the tank is partly empty id guess modifying the pick up or the baffles in the tank would help, just a guess. if its an issue with a full tank maybe it something else. i had a pump in my mazda that would cut out on sharp right handers but the pick up and everything seemed ok. i replaced it and the problem went away for some reason. if your engine starves for fuel with a high pressure injection system it can cut out with no sputters or anything other than loss of power.
