The easiest & simpilest way to fix your problem is chalk. Yes chalk. The kind you use on a chalk board. put it around all windows, doors & so on. The ants dont like the way it sticks to their feet, therfore no more ants. This works great....Plus you don't have to worry about your kids or your pets getting poisoned. You can use the sidewalk chalk too.
