I am having computer issues! plz help!?

my computer doesnt wanna start.....it turns on but after 2 seconds the screen goes blank and it says" error disk not read"....what does that mean and how can i fix it? it also says to to restart the computer and i have restarted it a million times but it still sys"error disk not read"....what do i do?! plz help
